The neighborhood

In the city where Paul Valéry and Georges Brassens were born, we can not help beginning this story on a poetic note.

Called the l’île singulière or the « Venise of Languedoc » for its canals, Sète is a beautiful Occitan city lined with a salt-water lagoon and a fine sand beaches.

Sète’s most well-known specialty are oysters. The city is located on the l’étang de Thau, Languedoc’s largest pond, measuring 19km long and 5 km wide. It’s a true small, inland sea, home to an exceptional biological diversity as well as artisanal activities like mussel-farming and oyster-farming.

Sète is located within the Languedoc-Roussillon region, known for wine production. Make the most of your stay in Sète by discovering the back-country vineyards and tasting the diversity of Languedoc wines, which were raised in a sun-bathed territory.
